About Our Internship Program:

We offer a hands-on, educational experience conducting field research. Interns are involved in nearly every step of executing field trials. They are given opportunities to learn about agronomy, current products being used and tested for crop production, research equipment, and research trial execution. Our interns also get the opportunity to meet and interact with industry leaders. On a daily basis, interns may be involved with planting, spraying, seed treatment, soil and plant sampling, data collection, and aerial imaging.

Research Associate I

Research Associate I

Buckeye Ag Testing is a family owned contract research organization specializing in small plot field research in corn, soybeans, and wheat. We are currently seeking a research associate to assist in executing field trials. This position will participate in every aspect of field trial activities, including: 1) Research protocol planning; 2) Field operations involved in planting, maintaining, and harvesting trials; 3) Trial applications (in-furrow/2x2, sidedress, top dress, spraying, dry fertility, etc.); 4) Leading junior field crews for data collection and sampling; 5) Communicating with leadership and clients on trial status and observations; 6) Managing inventory.


Location: Troy, Ohio

Job Type: Full Time

Education: Bachelor's

Experience: 0-5 of experience in related field

Overnight Travel Required: No


Job Description/Primary Duties:

  • Support all trial activities

  • Operate, maintain, repair field research equipment

  • Perform trial applications

  • Collect data and samples as specified in research protocols

  • Manage activities of junior field crews as needed

  • Field scouting for crop growth stage and overall condition

  • Assist with product inventory and record keeping

  • Aid in creating improved efficiency

  • Support general farm maintenance operations

  • Buckeye Ag Testing will support acquisition of CDL and Pesticide Applicator's License
